I used to travel with a whole shelf of products and use maybe three of them. So I cut it down to the five that actually do the work. Here they are, in order, with no exaggeration.

1. A gentle cleanser

Plane air is brutal. A creamy, non-stripping cleanser keeps my skin from going tight the second I land.

2. Vitamin C in the morning

This is my desert-island product. I wrote more about why I love it here — it's the closest thing I have to looking rested when I'm not.

3. A barrier moisturizer

Nothing trendy. Just something that locks moisture in for the long-haul flights.

4. SPF, always

Even on grey Bay Area days. Especially on travel days near windows and water.

5. A lip balm I won't lose

Okay, I will lose it. I buy three.

That's the whole routine. Genuine, repeatable, and it fits in a quart bag.
